Dan Brown is an internationally bestselling author, best known for writing The Da Vinci Code. He was born on June 22, 1964, in Exeter, New Hampshire, and attended Phillips Exeter Academy, where he wrote his first short story. After graduating from Amherst College in 1986, he moved to Hollywood to pursue a music career.
Brown’s first published novel, Digital Fortress, was released in 1998 and became a bestseller. He gained even more fame and recognition with the 2003 release of his novel The Da Vinci Code, which sold more than 80 million copies and was made into a major motion picture.
In addition to The Da Vinci Code, Brown’s other popular works include Angels & Demons, The Lost Symbol, Inferno, and Origin. Brown’s books have been published in 56 languages, and have sold more than 200 million copies worldwide.
