HELLO JAY MORRIS, WELCOME TO WORLDAUTHORS.ORG! WHAT DRIVES YOU TO WRITE?
Writing is freedom. Writing allows me to express my ideas and put them in printed form. Seeing my ideas in print is the same as painting a picture that gives me a broad sense of accomplishment. Writing also gives me the opportunity to share and express my experiences and lessons with those who might be looking for answers. As one who enjoys teaching, writing expands my ability to reach others and hopefully enable them to learn and grow. Writing brings me great joy.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE READERS WILL GET OUT OF YOUR BOOKS?
I hope readers will get a better sense of who they are and appreciate the talents and abilities they each possess. My hope is that each reader will recognize the hardships and difficulties they might have encountered, and realize how those encounters could be tremendous learning opportunities. Pausing and taking the time to reflect and see the lessons can be a transformative experience. This, however, is dependent on having a positive outlook, recognizing one’s self-worth, and aspiring to do something positive with one’s life. I believe everyone has the potential to do great things, and my desire is to help them get there.
WHAT BOOKS DID YOU READ AS A KID?
As a kid I read biographies, science fiction, and comic books. Today I read spiritual books, leadership books, science fiction, and the Bible. Frank Perritti and Warren Bennis are two of my favorite authors. Both speak about the power of the human spirit and Holy Spirit.
WHAT IS ONE THING THAT WILL SURPRISE YOUR READERS?
Readers might be surprised with my candor and willingness to openly share about my background growing up. Even though some individuals are born into adverse conditions, success is available to all of those who are willing and able to tap into their spiritual gifts and talents. I was an inner city kid who faced the harsh realities that many inner city kids face. However, I was able to identify positive resources and people along the journey who helped me get where I am today. My faith is the pillar of my life.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NEXT?
I am torn between writing the book that follows Masterpiece Our Journey to Spiritual Transformation or the book that was my first choice to write, Intuitive Agility. Although I wanted to write Intuitive Agility which examines how our intuition is critical to success in business and corporate first, I could never get it started and was compelled to put it to the side. I have a strong feeling that Intuitive Agility will have to wait a little longer before it takes form. The follow on to Masterpiece will provide details on how to elevate and fully integrate our spiritual walk to align with our body and mind.
